I am engaged!

Recently, I became engaged.

Sweet!  Lucky me.

Now begins the process of finding a venue, celebrant, caterers, wedding bands, the list goes on and on!

You’re probably wondering why I’m posting this on a business blog.

I’m not showing off!  It’s a great example.

How am I and my fiancée searching for all of the businesses that I need to deal with to make this wedding happen?

Funnily enough, I’m doing it the same way that 85% of people aged between 25 and 44 do.  Both my fiancée and I have been ‘googling’ away trying to find the best place to get married.

I’d estimate since we became engaged last month, I would have done over 100 searches on Google looking for various things.

That’s what puts me into the 85% of people.  Did you know that over 85% of people aged between 25-44 in Australia say that the internet is the first place that they look?

Am I looking for business names that I know?

No.

Am I looking for specific things?

Yes.

From our experience at Tassie Online Marketing, pretty much all businesses do not show up in Google when people search for their products or services.  Their business name does, but rarely someone looks for that!

What happens, is that people search for products or services and see a bunch of adverts on Google.  These adverts are paid, and if you’re not showing there, I can almost guarantee you that your business is losing out on customers and your competitors are getting them all!

I was just checking the reports sent through from our online advertising team.  Here’s a great example.

One client has had over 50 people to their website last month who were searching for exactly what they do.  Even if they get to sell to 5 of those people (that’s a conservative number) they are going to make over $10,000 in profit.

That’s not even the best bit.  These are customers that would’ve gone to their competitor before they started working with us.

Do they have to do any work to generate this business?  Only doing a quote, because we’ve done the hard bit and found the customers who are actively in the market by advertising on Google.  Easy as!
